Professor Itoda Soichiro is the initiator of the International Asakusa Research Project at Meiji University, and in the course of this work he came up with the idea of disseminating in-depth information about the Old Town of Tokyo via podcasting of radio programs on the Internet. He is now leading the resulting Tokyo-Edo Radio Project. Dr. Itoda is a Professor of German Literature, and an Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation Research Fellow. He is the author of Berlin and Tokyo: Theater and Capital City. (Munich: Iudicium-Verlag, 2008) (English review).
